Arrival Instructions:
Building C faces Fairfax Drive - Wait in the lobby area at the Guard Station. An FDIC representative will greet and escort you to the orientation room.

Contact:
If you are unable to report on your assigned date or have any questions about your appointment or orientation, contact your HRB Specialist identified in your official letter. You may also contact the Career Management Center at (703) 562-2122.

Metro Train and Bus Service:
Take either the Orange Line or Silver Line train to the Virginia Square/George Mason University Metro Station. The FDIC is located diagonally across the street from the Metro station. For bus service from DC, Maryland, or Virginia as well as additional details about the train service, visit the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority web site at www.wmata.com.

Parking Instructions:
Temporary parking in the Virginia Square garage can be provided upon request and until a permanent parking space is assigned. To receive temporary parking, please send the following information to your administrative officer or in a reply to the welcome email sent by the New Employee Orientation staff: vehicle make and model, state of registration, and license plate number. Student Interns may request temporary parking for up to three days per month.

The preferred entrance for accessing the Visitor Parking section of the garage is on N. Monroe St., in front of the FDIC’s Student Residence Center. When arriving at the garage entrance, you must provide the Security Guards with your driver’s license before you are given your temporary parking assignment. As you enter the garage, follow the signs for “Visitor Parking.” Once you have parked in your assigned space, use the Visitor Elevator located in the center of the parking garage and go to the lobby level (“L”).

Check-in at the Security Desk and provide the Guards with the name of your New Employee Orientation contact.

Attire:
Business Casual Dress.

Dining:
The L. William Seidman Center offers a cafeteria and is accessible to several area restaurants.

What to Bring with You

  1. All applicable printed and completed forms obtained through the new employee orientation web site
  2. Acceptable forms of identification – either a valid passport; OR, a valid driver's license AND birth certificate; OR, a valid driver's license AND social security card. Refer to the instructions on Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Certification, and choose from List A or Lists B AND C
  3. Form DD-214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty or equivalent, if appropriate
  4. Documents validating your college education if not already verified by an original diploma, transcripts, or other statement from a school official
  5. If transferring from another government agency, please bring your last Leave and Earnings Statement and most recent TSP-Loan information
