FDIC’s Virtual New Employee Orientation

Time:
  • Day 1: 12:00pm – 4:30pm Eastern (11:00am/CT, 10:00am/MT, 9:00am/PT)
  • Day 2: 12:00pm – 4:30pm Eastern (11:00am/CT, 10:00am/MT, 9:00am/PT)

Location/Delivery Method:
New Employee Orientation will be held virtually through Microsoft Teams. Please refer to the email communications sent by your Regional Human Resources Specialist and New Employee Orientation Coordinator for additional details and Microsoft Teams meeting links.

If you are unable to report on your assigned date or have any questions about your appointment or orientation, contact your onboarding Human Resources Specialist identified in your official letter. You may also contact the New Employee Orientation Coordinator, William Powell, at WPowell@fdic.gov or 703-516-5221.

Action Items (Preparing for Your Onboarding):

  1. Follow the instructions provided by your Regional Human Resources Specialist for completing and submitting all required forms listed on the New Employee Orientation Employment Forms webpage.
  2. Prepare to present the required form(s) of identification – either a valid passport; OR, a valid driver's license AND birth certificate; OR, a valid driver's license AND social security card. Refer to the instructions on Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Certification, and choose from List A or Lists B AND C of accepted forms of identification.
  3. If transferring from another government agency, please download and prepare to provide your most recent Leave and Earnings Statement and most recent TSP-Loan information (if applicable).
  4. If applicable, complete Form DD-214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty or equivalent.
  5. If applicable, prepare any documentation validating your education credentials/status if not already verified by an original diploma, transcript, or other statement from a school official.

Instructions for Joining Microsoft Teams Meeting to:

  1. Accept/Save the meeting invitation to your calendar when received from your onboarding Human Resources Specialist and/or the New Employee Orientation Coordinator.
  2. Click the “Join Microsoft Teams Meeting” link within the meeting invitation.
  3. (If you do not have the Microsoft Teams application installed) When your web browser opens, click “Join on the web instead.” Otherwise, you may join using the Microsoft Teams application.
  4. In the “Enter name” field, please type your first and last name.
  5. Under the “Enter name” field, you will see toggle options for your video camera and microphone. Please be sure to mute your microphone before joining the meeting. Once you have entered the meeting, you will have the ability to mute and unmute your microphone, as well as turn your video camera on or off.
  6. Click “Join now.”
  7. The meeting organizer may ask you to verify your identity. To do so, please unmute your microphone and turn your camera on to introduce yourself.
