Employee Benefits

Last Updated: June 7, 2023

Our exceptional team at the FDIC is the key to fulfilling our important mission. We take pride in offering our employees highly competitive compensation, a generous benefits program, and extensive career development opportunities.

Federal Employee Benefits

The FDIC offers the Federal Employees Health (FEHB) Insurance Program, which provides employees a range of options to meet their needs. In fact, FEHB provides the widest selection of health plans in the country. Employees also have access to the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Program (FEDVIP), Federal Employees Group Life Insurance (FEGLI), and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAFEDS).

FDIC Choice

The FDIC Choice flexible benefits program offers employees access to alternative dental and vision coverage, as well as life insurance, long-term disability, and a flexible spending account for parking.

Retirement Savings

The FDIC offers its employees a number of options for retirement savings. In addition to the Federal Retirement System and the Federal Thrift Savings Plan, FDIC employees can participate in the FDIC Savings Plan, a 401(k) plan that allows employees to make tax-deferred contributions for retirement.

Time Off and Flexible Schedules

The FDIC offers a generous number of paid holidays, as well as annual vacation and sick leave. We also offer a number of alternative work schedules and a telework program to help employees achieve a work/life balance. Visit the Benefits Details page to learn more about federal employee benefits, the FDIC Choice flexible benefits program, the FDIC Savings Plan, leave, and flexible schedules.

The FDIC provides competitive salaries that are based on the grade and location applicable to each position. Visit the Compensation page for more information on the salary structure.

Career Development Opportunities

We believe training and career development resources are key to helping our employees succeed. The FDIC offers a range of professional courses, a career management program, fellows and graduate programs, tuition assistance, a mentoring program, and opportunities to grow skills through short-term assignments to other positions. Visit the Career Development Opportunities page to learn more.
