FDIC, BANK ADMINISTRATION INSTITUTE TO
CO-SPONSOR SECOND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) will join the Bank Administration Institute (BAI) for a second year to co-sponsor a conference on "Community Development Lending and CRA Strategies for Community Banks" from June 19-21, 2000, in Arlington, VA.

FDIC Chairman Donna Tanoue will deliver the keynote address on emerging regulatory and community reinvestment issues in the 21st century. The Honorable Reverend Floyd Flake, Pastor of the Cathedral of ALLEN AME Church, Jamaica, New York, will present Monday's luncheon address on the role of financial institutions in rebuilding America's urban communities.

Among other topics to be covered by the conference's distinguished group of speakers are subprime and predatory lending, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and its impact on financial institutions, and microenterprise opportunities.

BAI hosts a community development conference each year for its member financial institutions, community organizations and others.

The conference will be held at the Marriott Crystal Gateway in Arlington, VA.
