Join the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) for a webinar tailored for bankers focused on the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program and its role in expanding affordable housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income communities. The webinar will provide bankers with the basic understanding of the federal government’s primary program for encouraging the investment of private equity into the development of affordable rental housing. Banks can participate in affordable housing developments as investors using LIHTCs, providing equity in exchange for the tax credits. Banks can also participate as lenders, providing short- or long-term financing. Additionally, speakers from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago will present research on LIHTC expirations and exits, and their implications for the LIHTC housing stock in Wisconsin.
