FDIC Hosts Statewide Webinar to Expand Free Tax Filling Services and Banking Access for LMI Households in Utah

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is conducting a webinar to promote community development collaborations that expand low- and moderate-income (LMI) households’ access to free tax filling services. These free tax assistance sites can help qualifying families receive the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Statewide Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site administrators will also provide bankers and other community stakeholders with actionable opportunities to support related community development activities, such as offering affordable accounts to unbanked and underbanked LMI households who access VITA services.

Statewide via webinar. Registered attendees will receive webinar access information the day before the event.

Who should attend:

Banks, credit unions, community development financial institutions (CDFIs) and community organizations interested in supporting VITA, and in offering affordable accounts and other financial services to LMI households that access VITA services.
