The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Advisory Committee on Economic Inclusion (ComE-IN) will meet on Tuesday, October 22, to discuss developments in credit scoring and underwriting, the status of the mortgage markets, and efforts to create sustainable bank accounts. Committee members will also share brief insights into key challenges facing their communities and organizations.

The meeting will be open to the general public and will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the FDIC's Board Room, 6th Floor, 550 17th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. Congress created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in 1933 to restore public confidence in the nation's banking system. The FDIC insures deposits at the nation's banks and savings associations, 5,303 as of June 30, 2019. It promotes the safety and soundness of these institutions by identifying, monitoring and addressing risks to which they are exposed. The FDIC receives no federal tax dollars—insured financial institutions fund its operations.
