Bank Resolution Experience Information

Course Date: July 8-12, 2024

BRE is a 5-day program designed to provide an operational overview of FDIC's bank resolution processes in a format tailored for an international audience. FDIC experts will use lectures, exercises, and panels to discuss:

  • How the FDIC anticipates and plans for potential bank failures.
  • The successful execution of a variety of resolution tools, including payouts, bridge banks, and purchase and assumption.
  • Post-failure activity, including asset sales, management, and professional liability investigations; and
  • FDIC's role in resolution planning for systemically important financial institutions.
By the end of the program, participants will be able to compare FDIC's approach to resolution to their own experiences.

Prerequisites:

  • Staff experts involved in supervision, deposit insurance or bank resolution activities with five years experience.
  • Successful completion of the course FDIC 101 (in person or virtual).
  • Pass a learning validation exercise on key concepts from FDIC 101.

Application Process:
Space in the program is limited to 20 qualified persons. FDIC will attempt to accommodate at least one applicant from interested organizations.
