Event Date

FDIC will host a Southeast Michigan AEI webinar – Homeownership Initiatives.  Featured speakers from Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBI), Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), and National Faith Homebuyers (program administrator for several municipal programs) will provide an overview of their down payment assistance programs (DPA).

This meeting will showcase DPA programs and demonstrate how they build partnerships, foster collaboration among financial institutions and housing counselors, and expand affordable mortgage lending in low- and moderate-income communities.

Presenters will outline opportunities for banks to expand lending through participation in DPA programs and by combining multiple programs for greater borrower support. Attendees will explore collaborative approaches that enable alternative underwriting and funding solutions. Lenders will share insights on program use and its impact on customer acquisition, geographic distribution, and portfolio risk.
