RE: RIN 3064-AC50

Dear Mr. Feldman:

I am writing to request that you to withdraw your proposed changes to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) regulations. My organization, PATH, knows firsthand that the CRA has been instrumental in increasing homeownership, boosting economic development, and expanding small businesses in the nation’s low- and moderate-income communities.

The CRA Act is vital to the development of affordable housing and community development in the disenfranchised communities of Los Angeles. Over 20 years, PATH has built emergency and transitional housing centers for the homeless and built several units of affordable housing for families. We have also helped to create jobs and provide job training to low-to-moderte income families and individuals.

As a former fair housing discrimanation coordinator and a current advocate to the advancement of fair housing, I want to express the tremdous need of maintaining the current CRA regulations. It will engage banks to further and foster fair houising commitments to the community.

The proposed FDIC rule would exempt many of our community’s key financial partners from the effective and productive requirements currently in place. We oppose any increase to the threshold of what is considered to be a small bank, and we urge the FDIC withdraw its proposed rule Sincerely,

Janet Ganaway
