Dear Committee - As a director of a community based non-profit which
serves over 35,000 working and low income individuals throughout
Marion
County, SC. I write on behalf these citizens to express my opposition
to the FDIC proposal which would allow banks with assets above $250
Million to be examined as small banks, under the Community Reinvestment
Act. This policy would most certainly reduce lending investments
and
services to low-income communities.
Surely there must be am alternative to balancing our national budget
on
the backs of the working and under-served among us.
