General Comment:

I have had an experience where an OLD creditor (Primeco) was sold to another
company(Verizon) and after several years Verizon has reported that I still owed
them $88. My Primeco account was paid in full and I no longer had the cancelled
check. When contacting Verizon, I was told they cannot send the old Primeco bill
as it no longer is on record. They offered to send me a Verizon bill for $88 BUT
cannot document I owed Primeco. When contacting the credit bureau I was told to
file a dispute and they would look into it. All I received was a letter from credit
bureau stating that they asked Verizon if I owed it and was the SSAN correct. Of
course, the creditor said yes. I received a letter from credit bureau stating it was
my debt! Why is the creditor assumed to be correct? They cannot prove I owe the
debt but are not obligated to do so. I am stuck with a charge off or faced with
being extorted for $88!

Thank You.
