VOICES for Alabama's Children, a statewide nonprofit organization
representing children and families in Alabama, strongly opposes the
proposed changes to reporting requirements for the CRA. Such changes
will weaken the impetus for smaller banks to invest in affordable
housing. Families in states such as Alabama with high rates of poverty
and numerous small banking institutions will undoubtedly suffer.
We urge that the proposed changes not be adopted.
