___________________________________________________________

It appears that there is a growing passion among community bankers regarding
the increasing regulatory burden.

Increasing regulatory burden and costs is a sure way to make it harder for
community banks to compete among mega, regional financial institutions.
Towering regulatory burden may take away de novo growth options because of
the existing regulatory environment. Increasing regulatory burden is
counter to ensuring long-term competitive environment where the consumer
chooses a mega, regional, or local community bank.
