Continuing IT Training Program - Cloud Computing I

Program Overview

This course will explore the current state of cloud computing and its common architecture, and examine major software as a service (Saas), platform as a service (PaaS), and infrastructure as a service (IaaS) providers in the market. This course also covers the security and control deficiencies that exist in cloud-based services and Security as a Service as a way to protect against them.

Key Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the current state of cloud computing and its common architecture;
  • Identify security and control deficiencies that exist in cloud-based services
  • Describe risk-based approach to examine controls for cloud based-services and investigate such areas as cloud-based network models, cloud brokers, and disaster recovery and governance in a cloud-services environment.

Target Audience

Examiners or ITEAs who will lead or participate on level B and A examinations.

This course is open to appropriate staff of the FDIC and partner government regulatory agencies. This course is not open to the public or staff of private banks.

Prerequisites

Participants should have completed all of the basic- level.  In addition, this course is geared toward participants who have completed the following:

  • Deploying Internet and Intranet Firewalls
  • Virtualization

This course may provide CPE/CEU credits; however, any credits offered will be handled by the vendor.
