Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Chairman Jelena McWilliams today issued the following statement welcoming Acting Comptroller of the Currency Brian P. Brooks to the FDIC Board of Directors.

"I would like to welcome Acting Comptroller of the Currency Brian P. Brooks to the FDIC Board of Directors. I look forward to working with Acting Comptroller Brooks on our shared goals to, among others, promote financial stability, maintain public confidence in our regulatory agencies, and foster technological innovation in our banking sector. Brian's background in banking and technology will be a tremendous asset to the FDIC as we continue our work on innovation, implementing technological solutions to modernize supervision, and removing unnecessary regulatory obstacles to partnerships between banks and fintechs."
