FDIC Makes Public September Enforcement Actions
No Administrative Hearings Scheduled for November 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) today released a list of orders of administrative enforcement actions taken against banks and individuals in September. There are no administrative hearings scheduled for November 2019.

The FDIC issued 24 orders in September 2019, consisting of 22 stipulated orders, and 2 adjudicated decisions and orders by the FDIC board. The FDIC also issued one Notice of Charges & Hearing. The administrative enforcement actions in those orders consisted of one consent order; five removal and prohibition orders; six assessments of civil money penalty; three voluntary terminations of deposit insurance; six section 19 orders; and three terminations of orders of restitution.

Congress created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in 1933 to restore public confidence in the nation's banking system. The FDIC insures deposits at the nation's banks and savings associations, 5,303 as of June 30, 2019. It promotes the safety and soundness of these institutions by identifying, monitoring and addressing risks to which they are exposed. The FDIC receives no federal tax dollars—insured financial institutions fund its operations.
