The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) would like to remind institutions that Calendar Year 2001 (CY2001) Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) data must be submitted by March 1, 2002. Getting Help We have again contracted with the Federal Reserve Board (FRB) in Washington, DC, to collect and process CY2001 data from those FDIC-supervised institutions that have a reporting obligation. The FRB staff will assist you with questions regarding data collection and submission.
The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) data collection software exports data onto 3.5 inch diskettes. Please make a copy of each diskette and submit the original(s) by March 1, 2002 to:
Attention: FDIC HMDA (or CRA) Processing Unit 20th and Constitution Avenue, NW MS N502 Washington, DC 20551-0001 Continued Use of 1990 Census Data When reporting CRA and HMDA data, it is critical that you use the correct census tract information. Using incorrect tract numbers will result in invalid data submissions when you file your annual CRA and HMDA reports. For CRA and HMDA data reporting and analysis purposes, continue to use the 1990 census tract and demographic information for CY2001and CY2002 data. The U.S. Census Bureau's 2000 census data is expected to be fully available for use in collecting CY2003 CRA and HMDA data. For more information about this matter, please see the attached FFIEC statement. An electronic copy of the statement is available at http://www.ffiec.gov/cra/memo100301.htm.
