BANK REPORTS

FIL-74-2000
November 8, 2000

TO: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
SUBJECT: Revisions to the Reports of Condition and Income for 2001

The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) has approved revisions to the reporting requirements for the Reports of Condition and Income (Call Report) for 2001. These revisions will become final upon approval by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget.

To assist you in planning for these upcoming reporting changes, attached is a copy of the FFIEC's November 3, 2000, press release explaining the status of the Call Report changes proposed earlier this year (see FIL-35-2000 dated June 7, 2000). The revisions approved by the FFIEC include deferring the implementation dates for certain new Call Report information until later in 2001 and delaying the proposed collection of subprime lending data until further notice. The changes to the proposal reflect the banking agencies' consideration of the suggestions and comments received during the public comment period.

As noted in the press release, the FFIEC will be sending you more detailed information about the Call Report revisions within the next month.

For further information about the Call Report revisions, please contact Robert Storch at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (202-898-8906), Arthur Lindo at the Federal Reserve Board (202-452-2695), or Gary Christensen at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (202-874-4482).
