RE: Bulletin FIL-8-2004
      Privacy of Consumer Financial Information
Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR) Regarding Privacy

Gentlemen:

This is with reference to the above bulletin of January 5, 2004. On behalf of a small country bank, I would like to sincerely request that you consider simplifying and delete any notices that we can possibly eliminate under the Graham-Leach-Bliley act.

This has been one of the most disastrous pieces of legislation that has come down on the banking business, and it has been most expensive to banks. It does absolutely nothing for the American public.

I sincerely hope we will review this rule with a broad vision for both banks, and the American people, as the consumer is just as disgusted as we are in receiving all of these documents.

Yours very truly,

Douglas Ford
Chairman & President
