Subject: Overdraft Protection Guidance

The guidance suggests that overdrafts created under an overdraft protection program should be "charged off within 30 days from the date of the first overdrawn". Although reference is made to other regulatory guidance providing exception to the 30 day charge off guidance, we feel that 60 + days is more manageable, givine the systematic collection process in most overdraft protection programs.
