Subject: Liquidity Issues

Has any consideration been given to offering unlimited government (FDIC) insurance on Public Fund deposits at banks? This move would free up securities that are required to be pledged to those accounts and would greatly improve the liquidity position of banks. Or another thought would be to expand the unlimited insurance on transaction accounts to include interest bearing accounts of Public Funds.
