Subject: Community Reinvestment -- RIN 3064-AC50
“The Community Reinvestment Act is a critical component to Florida’s
affordable housing and community development solutions. This is one of
the VERY FEW OPTIONS LEFT TO PROVIDE AND FINANCE AFFORDABLE HOUSING.
IF THIS RULE GETS ADOPTED, WE COULD SEE EVEN MORE REGULATION AT THE
LOCAL LEVEL, IN THE FORM OF MANDATORY INCLUSIONARY ZONING: THERE ARE
FEWER AND FEWER OPTIONS TO BUILDING ANND SELL AFFORDABLY PRICED HOMES.
THE DEPT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT’S BUDGET CONTINUES TO BE
DECIMATED.
THIS CONTINUES TO PUT PRESSURE ON LOCAL GOVERNMENTS TO IMPOSE EVEN
MORE RULES ON THE HOUSING INDUSTRY HERE IN MIAMI -DADE COUNTY. DON’T
WRITE ANY MORE REGULATIONS THAT WILL FORCE THE LOCAL GOVENRMMENTS TO
“REGULATE US TO DEATH” AT THE LOCAL LEVEL.
As a housing professional, I oppose any increase to the threshold of
what is considered to be a small bank. The proposed FDIC rule would
exempt many of our community’s critical partners from the effective and
productive requirements currently in place. I urge the FDIC to withdraw
its proposed rule.”
