Abstract: In general, part 362 prohibits insured state banks from

undertaking activities that are not permitted for national banks, with

some exceptions that are granted through an application process. This

rulemaking would have eliminated certain application requirements and

substituted notice requirements for them, for banks meeting specified

criteria.

This action, the result of a CDRI section 303(a) review, has been

combined with a more comprehensive revision to 12 CFR 362 (see 3064-

AC12).
