We oppose the FDIC's proposal to allow banks with assets above $250 million to be examined as small banks under the Community Reinvestment Act. This policy would reduce lending, investments and services in low-income communities. As a community improvement group attempting to utilize government resources for small scale projects that already have a tough time competing against metropolisis, it is our belief any reduction in examination of large banks will favor metropolotian areas, not rural communities such as ours.
