Ron Haynie is senior vice president of mortgage finance policy at the Independent Community Bankers Association (ICBA). He provides leadership and guidance for ICBA on all mortgage finance related legislative and regulatory issues that impact community bankers including government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) reform, Federal Housing Administration (FHA) reform, and the mortgage rulemakings from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and other banking regulators. He has more than 35-years’ experience in mortgage lending and banking. Mr. Haynie spent 20 years at Freddie Mac in a variety of roles that included sales, mortgage-backed security trading, credit policy, and program development. He has also worked in the correspondent and wholesale mortgage business. Mr. Haynie has run secondary marketing for a regional bank and most recently, he ran the mortgage lending business for a community bank in Idaho. Additionally, in his role for ICBA Services Network, Mr. Haynie is responsible for providing competitive mortgage lending products, programs, and services that enable ICBA’s community bank members to safely grow their mortgage business while protecting their franchise.
