Jonathan Miller

Deputy Director for Policy and Consumer Research, Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection, FDIC

Jonathan leads the Policy and Consumer Research Branch of the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection. He oversees the development of supervisory policy, guidance, and regulations for the FDIC in the area of consumer protection, and the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). He also oversees the exam analytics function, and consumer research function, which produces the FDIC’s Household Survey on the Unbanked and Underbanked.

Prior to joining the FDIC in February 2011, Jonathan worked for the U.S. Congress for more than 23 years including for the Senate Banking Committee, where he worked on consumer banking and housing issues; the House Financial Services Committee, working primarily on issues related to housing; and a number of individual Members of Congress. Jonathan is a graduate of Georgetown University and has a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
