Guest Speaker Biographies - Katryn Gabrielson

Katryn Gabrielson has served as Deputy General Counsel of the Finance Authority of Maine, Maine’s business and education finance agency, since July 2009.  Prior to that, she served as Assistant Counsel, first from 1987-1988 and later from 2000-2009. Prior to joining the Authority, she was in a private practice in Philadelphia.     Among the programs which the Authority administers are higher education loan, grant and loan repayment programs, commercial loan insurance, direct loan programs to Maine businesses, equity capital, and bond financing.  Ms. Gabrielson’s responsibilities also include compliance oversight of the NextGen College Investing Plan, Maine’s Section 529 Plan, and the Harold Alfond College Challenge.   She holds a J.D. from Vermont Law School and a B.A. from Vassar College and is admitted to the bars of Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Maine.
