Kenneth Worthey

Kenneth Worthey currently serves as a Senior Community Affairs Specialist at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Washington, DC. In this role, he assists in directing and coordinating projects and strategic initiatives related to consumer financial education and other emerging community development and economic inclusion opportunities. In particular, Mr. Worthey works to develop, enhance, and promote Money Smart, the FDIC's flagship financial education program which comprises instructor-led curricula, self-paced learning tools, and other related resources. He also supports the Corporation's representation on national financial education initiatives, such as the Financial Literacy and Education Commission. Previously at the FDIC, he served as Acting Chief, overseeing a team responsible for the Corporation's Money Smart financial education program and related economic inclusion initiatives. Prior to joining the FDIC, Mr. Worthey served as Program Officer, overseeing financial literacy, economic inclusion, and consumer financial protection outreach programs at the National Credit Union Administration. Mr. Worthey has over 15 years of experience working with financial education and economic inclusion programs assisting low- and moderate-income consumers and communities. Mr. Worthey obtained his Master of Public Administration degree and Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Public Relations from George Mason University.
