Guest Speaker Biography - Tammy Edwards

As the assistant vice president and community affairs officer for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Tammy Edwards leads the Bank’s department responsible for supporting the Federal Reserve System’s economic growth objectives through excellent research and resources that serve low – and moderate-income communities and small businesses. In addition, the department promotes community development and fair access to financial products throughout the seven states of the Tenth Federal Reserve District which encompasses Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Colorado, northern New Mexico and western Missouri. Specifically, the department partners with stakeholders to explore and execute solutions concerning five primary areas: community development investments, financial stability for consumers, economic development, neighborhood stabilization and sustainability for nonprofit organizations.

Edwards joined the Bank in July 2008 after having spent over twenty years at Sprint Corporation where she held a variety of leadership positions in marketing, human resources, operations, IT, product development and product management.

Edwards holds a B.B.A. in marketing and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. She is active in several civic and community organizations.
