Ms. Vongxay is the volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program Coordinator with the Connecticut Association for Human Services (CAHS). CAHS, a division of Advancing CT Together (ACT), strive to eliminate poverty by advocating for programs and policies to change the lives of low-income children and families across Connecticut by pioneering pathways from poverty to opportunity and from financial insecurity to capability and success. Our flagship program, VITA offers FREE tax preparation to low-to-moderate individuals and families – saving taxpayers an average of $300 - $500 in tax preparation fees. Through VITA, we are able to connect individuals and families to other programs within CAHS on financial literacy and work with participants on reaching their financial goals through financial coaching. Before serving as the VITA Program Coordinator, she was a volunteer tax preparer through the VITA program for 8 years. Ms. Vongxay, born and raised in CT, graduated from the University of Bridgeport with an Associates Degree in Business and is completing a Bachelors in Accounting and Finance at University of Phoenix.
