Thong Nguyen

Thong Nguyen leads Retail Banking, which includes banking centers and ATMs, Customer Service Contact Centers, Digital Banking, Consumer and Business Lending and Military Banking Overseas. He leads a team providing a full range of financial products and services to nearly 40 million customers through an unmatched coast-to-coast banking center and ATM network, including the nation’s leading and award-winning digital banking platforms.

He previously was the Strategy, Sales and Operations executive for Consumer Banking at Bank of America. Prior to that he was Global Corporate Strategy, Planning and Development executive and was responsible for M&A/dispositions activities, New BAC (the bank’s long-term initiative to simplify operations and reduce costs), the BAC Private Equity portfolio and the China Construction Bank Strategic Assistance effort.

Prior to his role in Corporate Strategy, Nguyen held various operational roles as West Division executive for U.S. Trust, overseeing the wealth management business. Former roles at Bank of America include head of Fiduciary Solutions at U.S. Trust; head of Private Advisory Services at Global Private Banking; Global Corporate and Investment Banking business executive; and head of Global Wealth & Investment Management’s Marketing and Business Development groups.

Before joining Bank of America, Nguyen worked at GE Capital and McKinsey & Co. Nguyen received a B.S. in mechanical engineering and an M.B.A. in finance and marketing from Columbia University, and is currently living in Charlotte.
