Laura Lawrence

Laura Lawrence is a Senior Community Affairs Specialist for Financial Education in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection at the Headquarters office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. She supports financial education for adults, including working with community organizations and other federal agencies to increase the economic inclusion of persons with disabilities.

Ms. Lawrence has over 20 years of experience supporting financial education and benefits programs for federal employees, retirees, and members of the public. Prior to joining the FDIC in the summer of 2016, Laura was the Director of the Office of Nutrition and Health Promotion Programs at the U.S. Administration for Community Living where she managed community programs and services for older adults and people with disabilities. Previously, she was Chief of the FSA, Life and Long Term Care Insurances office at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management where she managed some of the largest employee benefits programs in the nation. Laura has also worked as an executive consultant with a private consulting firm. She graduated from James Madison University and holds an MBA in finance and an MHSA in hospital administration from the University of Michigan.
