David Friedman is a Policy Analyst in the Supervisory Policy Branch of the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection. Prior to joining the FDIC in 2015, David served various roles in the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs, including as Senior Advisor for State and Federal Policy and as Senior Advisor to the Commissioner on Financial Empowerment Policy. Prior to his tenure at the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs, David was Acting Lead Research Analyst with Domini Social Investments, an investment firm focused on socially responsible investing, where he conducted research and drafted reports on company-, industry-, and country-level issues, with a focus on the banking sector, to inform investment decisions and shareholder advocacy efforts. Previously, David worked on consumer protection and economic opportunity policy issues at Demos, a non-partisan public policy organization. David is a graduate of New York University.
