Dear Mr. Feldman:
I am a citizen who works with and for minorities, immigrants and
low-income people in my community. I am concerned about and opposed to
any watering down of CRA (Community Reinvestment ACT) requirements for
mid – sized banks. CRA is vital for increasing homeownership and
economic development in lower-income communities and neighborhoods. Your
proposal will halt the progress that has been made over the past years.
Once again, it appears that the most fragile and needy of our society
will suffer for the prosperity of the more well-off. I am vehemently
opposed to the gutting of CRA by some indiscriminate regulatory fiat.
