I strongly oppose the proposed rule changes in the Community
Reinvestment Act (RIN 3064-AC50). This action will do harm to rural
communities. : It's a shame the FDIC is considering rule changes in the
community Reinvestment act. I was one of the first recipients of Ist
Interstate Bank's new loan policy in Portland Or. Ist Interstate was
notorious for redlining in the area where I eventually became a
homeowner. Thirteen years later my community is a major success story
with a major influx of renovated homes, condos, and apartments. Why on
earth would a program that has the capacity for so much good be gutted?
