I am writing to urge the FDIC to suspend enactment of the new assessments and exercise your authority to use extended time to rebuild the DIF. The increased assessments would really be “piling on” an industry with enough problems in the short term. Its also very contradictory to provide equity funds through TARP to open up lending, and at the same time charge more for insurance.
