
Mary Zaki is a Senior Research Economist in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection. Her research focuses on household finance topics including paycheck-to-paycheck spending and consumption behaviors, the impacts of small-dollar credit access, and the salience of credit disclosures such as the APR. Prior to arriving at the FDIC, Mary was an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland and a research assistant at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. She obtained a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School and a B.A. in both Economics and in International Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, and she received an M.S. and Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University.
