Guest Speaker - George Alexander

George Alexander is Assistant Director for Structured Transactions in the Franchise and Asset Marketing Branch of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s Washington office.  The group is responsible for developing and implementing large, complex asset disposition transactions. Most recently those transactions have included the FDIC’s first single-family mortgage backed securitization and the structured sale of the assets and liabilities of IndyMac Bank. George has extensive experience with the management and sale of most major asset types as well as the management and sale of securities and other capital markets assets.

Immediately prior to the FDIC, George was Manager of Mortgage-Backed Securities Administration for the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC) where he managed the oversight of the $40 billion MBS Program with a focus on maximizing the capital recovery of the government’s $7.6 billion retained financial interest.  He also managed the RTC’s review and approval process for asset dispositions totaling over $100 billion. These transactions for performing and non-performing loans and real estate assets included whole loan sales, auctions and structured transactions.
