Guest Speaker Biography - Sherrie Rhine

Sherrie L. W. Rhine joined the Division of Insurance and Research as a senior Economist in November 2009.  Prior to arriving at the FDIC, Sherrie was a senior economist in the Federal Reserve System and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and has spent more than 15 years focusing on consumer finance research and community development. Her research interests include consumer access to financial services and credit, asset accumulation and wealth building, community development, home ownership, and financial education. She has published in numerous academic journals, as well as Federal Reserve System and OCC publications. Sherrie received a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and a doctorate in economics from the University of South Carolina.
