Directors' College Program

San Francisco Region 2021 Directors’ College Program

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation is pleased to invite the officers and directors of your bank to attend our “Third Thursday Conversations” this summer on July 15th, August 19th, and September 16th.  These 90-minute webinars will cover a variety of topics, including Capital Markets, Consumer Compliance, and Fintech/Emerging Technologies, and will include a Question and Answer section to allow you to ask questions of FDIC personnel regarding these important topics.

The “Third Thursday Conversations” schedule is as follows:

July 15th: Capital Markets.  This session will cover such critical topics as the transition from LIBOR to alternative reference rates, the economic and banking impact of the ongoing low interest rate environment, and the recent changes to the brokered deposit and interest rate regulations.

August 19th: Consumer Protection and Compliance.  This session will cover such important areas as the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) Section 8, Flood Insurance regulations, and specific hot topics in the area of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).

September 16th: Fintech/Emerging Technologies.  This session will cover fintech strategic partnerships and emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, alternative data, and crypto/digital assets, as well as other recent fintech developments.

All sessions will be held at 1:00pm Pacific Time.

If health and safety conditions allow, we also hope to offer a Cyber Challenge Workshop at in-person events throughout the San Francisco Region in late 2021 and early 2022.
