FDIC Makes Public August Enforcement Actions;

No Administrative Hearings Scheduled for October 2015

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) today released a list of orders of administrative enforcement actions taken against banks and individuals in August. No administrative hearings are scheduled for October 2015.

The FDIC issued a total of 27 orders, which includes an order issued separately on August 12, 2015. The administrative enforcement orders consisted of two consent orders; eight removal and prohibition orders; six Section 19 orders; four civil money penalties; one amended consent order; and six terminations of consent orders.

Congress created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in 1933 to restore public confidence in the nation's banking system. The FDIC insures deposits at the nation's banks and savings associations, 6,348 as of June 30, 2015. It promotes the safety and soundness of these institutions by identifying, monitoring and addressing risks to which they are exposed.
