Quarterly Net Income
The chart depicts the amounts of after-tax net income (expressed in $Billions) earned by FDIC-insured commercial banks during the most recent and previous 17 quarters.  It also shows: 1) the portion of net income that consists of commercial banks' after-tax net gains (and losses) on securities sales and extraordinary items and, 2) the operating income portion of after-tax net income.

Quarterly Net Interest Margins, Annualized 
The graph displays net interest margins of the smallest and larger FDIC-insured commercial banks for the most recent and previous 17 quarters.  The smallest banks are defined as having total assets less than $100 Million; larger banks have total assets greater than $100 Million.
