Deposit Insurance Coverage – Comprehensive Training Free Nationwide Seminars for Bank Officers and Employees
The FDIC is offering ten free telephone seminars on deposit insurance coverage rules and regulations. The objective is to provide bank employees and officers with comprehensive guidance on the FDIC's deposit insurance rules so they can assist depositors in determining insurance coverage. Participation in the seminars is strictly voluntary and open to employees and officials of all FDIC-insured banks and saving associations.
Each seminar will begin with an approximately 120-minute audio presentation linked to a slide presentation that can be downloaded from the FDIC's Web site at http://www.fdic.gov/news/news/financial/2011/fil11014a.html. A question-and-answer period with FDIC subject matter experts will follow. Each seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of the FDIC's deposit insurance rules, including important changes enacted in 2010 and in 2011. The seminars are ideal for any bank employee or official interested in developing a comprehensive understanding of FDIC deposit insurance rules.
The procedures for registering for each seminar and accessing the seminar slide presentation can be found at the Web site address above. The slide presentation is subject to change based on any changes to the statute related to deposit insurance coverage rules.
