SUBJECT: Counterfeit Cashier's Checks
Summary: Counterfeit cashier's checks drawn on Banner Bank, Walla Walla, Washington, are reportedly in circulation.

Banner Bank, Walla Walla, Washington, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the proper routing number of 323371076 for Banner Bank and appear very similar to the authentic checks. However, authentic cashier's checks are printed on a light blue check paper stock, and the counterfeit items have been printed on light green check paper stock, as well as a white background with blue pinstripes. The authentic instruments also display a telephone number for the institution on the face of the check. A copy of a counterfeit item and a copy of an authentic cashier's check (VOID) are attached for your review.
