The FDIC has produced a video-seminar for bankers on the FDIC's rules and requirements for deposit insurance coverage. The one and one-half hour video is a
comprehensive seminar on deposit insurance coverage, explaining in detail the rules and requirements for all account ownership categories, with illustrated examples.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has produced a video-seminar for bank employees, banking trade associations, consumer organizations, and legal and financial advisory entities explaining federal deposit insurance coverage.
The video is available for viewing through the FDICs Web site (CD-ROM copies are also available.). The video, which is approximately one and one-half hours long, is a comprehensive seminar on the FDIC's rules and requirements for deposit insurance coverage. The video has an option to view the narrative in English or Spanish.
The FDIC developed this video as a training tool primarily for bank employees who work with depositors. The video is presented by FDIC employees and replicates one of the typical deposit insurance seminars that we provide for bank groups across the nation.
The video is divided into six chapters:
- Chapter I provides an overview of basic deposit insurance concepts and fundamentals;
- Chapter II covers the most common consumer account ownership categories such as single and joint accounts;
- Chapter III presents the remaining account ownership categories such as public unit accounts;
- Chapter IV contains information on important questions and answers regarding insurance coverage;
- Chapter V conveys highlights of the seminar presentation; and
- Chapter VI offers information on some important FDIC resources and explains the various ways to contact the FDIC to obtain more information on deposit insurance coverage.

Financial institutions may view FDIC's Video-Seminar on Deposit Insurance Coverage on the FDICs Web page. The video has an option to view the
narrative in English or Spanish. To view the video, go to Videos on Deposit Insurance Coverage. This page identifies the videos to view as well as system requirements and system test options.
Obtaining Copies from the FDIC
The FDIC will provide insured banks and savings associations with limited copies of the video at no charge. To place an order for the video, complete and submit the order form located on the FDIC's Web site at http://www2.fdic.gov/depositinsuranceregister/index.asp. Please allow four to six weeks for delivery.
