The one and one-half hour video is a comprehensive seminar on deposit insurance coverage, explaining in detail the rules and requirements for all account ownership categories, with illustrated examples.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has produced a video-seminar for bank employees, banking trade associations, consumer organizations, and legal and financial advisory entities explaining federal deposit insurance coverage.

The video, which is approximately one and one-half hours long, is a comprehensive seminar on the FDIC's rules and requirements for deposit insurance coverage. The FDIC developed this video as a training tool primarily for bank employees who work with depositors. The video is presented by FDIC employees and replicates one of the typical deposit insurance seminars that we provide for bank groups across the nation.

The video is divided into six chapters:

  • Chapter I provides an overview of basic deposit insurance concepts and fundamentals;
  • Chapter II covers the most common consumer account ownership categories such as single and joint accounts;
  • Chapter III presents the remaining account ownership categories such as public unit accounts;
  • Chapter IV contains information on important questions and answers regarding insurance coverage;
  • Chapter V conveys highlights of the seminar presentation; and
  • Chapter VI offers information on some important FDIC resources and explains the various ways to contact the FDIC to obtain more information on deposit insurance coverage.
