More Data Or Smarter Data? Increasing the Value and Timeliness of Business Information Using XBRL Tuesday, June 27, 2006 - FDIC Conference Center - Arlington, VA On Tuesday, 27 June 2006, XBRL-US and the FDIC will present a public event to promote the benefits of XBRL for government agencies. This event will be hosted by the FDIC at their conference facility in Arlington, VA. Government CFOs, financial management professionals, CIOs, CTOs, financial and data analysts, and subject matter experts are invited to attend this free day-long conference on XBRL, an XML business information reporting language. XBRL increases the efficiency, accuracy, productivity, and timeliness of financial data reporting and analysis. Meeting Information Keynote speakers will include Sam Mok, CFO of the Department of Labor; Congressman Richard Baker, Chairman, Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance, and Government Sponsored Enterprises (invited); Mary Mitchell, Deputy Associate Administrator, Office of Technology Strategy, General Services Administration; and Steve App, CFO of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Plenary speakers will include leaders of various U.S. government standards initiatives as well as leaders in the public sector financial management professional community.
