FDIC-Hosted Workshop on Improving Access to Financial Data on the Web Organized by the World Wide Web Consortium and XBRL International, Inc. FDIC Training Facility, Arlington, VA The creation, distribution, and consumption of financial content across the Web touch millions of users and affects decisions that have global implications for businesses, investors, governments, and consumers. The FDIC is pleased to host a Workshop organized by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and XBRL International, Inc. on how to achieve greater transparency in both corporate and government financial reporting supply chains along with accurate and timely linked data. The goal of the Workshop is to identify opportunities, use cases, and challenges for interactive access to financial data expressed in XBRL and related languages, and the broader opportunities for using Semantic Web technologies.
