On October 3, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, the FDIC's New York Region will host a Regional Regulatory Teleconference on Liquidity Risk and Funds Management.

This teleconference will cover liquidity risk management for community banks. Our speakers will be Senior Regional Capital Markets and Securities Specialists Mike Aldrich, Michael Kostrna, and Greg Quint, with an introduction by Deputy Regional Director Frank Hughes. We will discuss the current interest rate environment and implications for liquidity and interest rate risk. We will also provide an overview of industry trends in the New York Region, including changes in asset-based liquidity positions and funding structures/concentrations. In addition, we will highlight some specific funding types and the challenges associated with managing these funding sources in a stressed environment. Finally, we will emphasize the elements of an effective risk management program, including cash flow analysis, and hold an open forum for any questions you might have.

This teleconference is primarily geared toward FDIC-supervised institutions in the New York Region. Bank directors, officers, and staff members are welcome to participate. Participants may call in from any location and are not required to be onsite at their institution. Please forward this announcement to interested parties within your bank.
