The FDIC is working cooperatively with all of the state and federal banking agencies and other organizations to determine the status of financial institutions located in the affected areas. If you have questions concerning the operations of your financial institution, please call your financial institution or visit your financial institution’s web site. Ready.gov - www.ready.gov This site contains valuable information on developing personal preparedness plans as well as hurricane safety tips.
Red Cross - www.redcross.org The Red Cross site contains information on how to donate and volunteer to provide disaster assistance. Also, following the "Get Assistance " tab for information on shelter locations, disaster recovery guidelines and how to register for the "Search the Safe and Well" registry.
State of Florida - www.floridadisaster.org This site contains information specific to the State of Florida including impacts from Isaac and Florida shelter listings. Citizens may also obtain information by calling the Florida Emergency Information Line at 1-800-342-3557.
State of Alabama - www.ema.alabama.gov Visit this site for information from Alabama's Office of Emergency Management on evacuation routes and orders.
State of Mississippi - www.msema.org Residents of Mississippi should visit the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency's website for information on shelter, evacuation orders and coastal storm surge maps.
State of Louisiana - www.gohsep.la.gov This site will take you to the Louisiana Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness which contains information on evacuation routes, press releases and local Parish contact information.
The FDIC has issued letters to bankers encouraging them to work with borrowers in the areas hit hard by the storm. In turn, consumers and business owners experiencing difficulties beyond their control should feel free to actively reach out and work with their financial institutions.
